What's in my hand bag?

The "what's in my handbag" post is a classic for any blogger, so why am I doing it now?! Why not save it until I have 'bloggers block'?! Well the lovely people over at are running a little competition to see what people carry around with them on a daily basis, how much it's all worth, and whether or not we should be insuring them. To find out more about the competition click here.

Bag - £35

My pride and joy at the moment! Being a student, without a job, means no designer handbag for me, but I love my Miss Selfridge bag anyway!

The overall contents of my bag. This would differ from day to day but these are the average things that will always be in my bag!

ASOS Purse - £12.00, Giftcards - £28.00, NUS Card - £5, Drivers Licence - £20, Railcard - £20, Student halls key card - £20, Student card - £10

The price for the cards is the amount I would have to pay to replace them. If I was to lose my purse I'd have to fork out £75 just to replace a few card! That's unbelievable! I also always carry around any gift cards I have, which can often be a lot more than £28!

Passport - £72.50, Passport cover - £20, Glasses - £99, Phone - £140, Camera - £50

I wouldn't usually carry around my passport, but since I've been packing to move I figured it's the best way to keep it safe, and I know exactly where it is!

Water bottles - £10, Diary - £4, Umbrella - £4, Sunglasses - £12, House key - £200, Postal key - £20, USB - £12, Nurofen - £1.50

I'm not too sure why a house key would be £200, but I took that figure from the example on MSM.

Foundation - £8, Perfume - £30 , Mascara - £8 , Makeup Brush - £2, Lip stain - £8, Lip balm - £3.50, Powder - £4

Total = 858.50

To me that's crazy! I predicted around £400, since I don't have anything designer except for my glasses. To know I carry that much around on a daily basis! I don't have one single item on their insured! I should definitely look into insurance...

How much are you carrying around everyday?!

Not the most exciting purchases but I'm so excited to finally get that bag, i've wanted (and needed) it for absolutely ages! The basic tops are just something I've needed for a while, like the tights, and the shorts i'll be using as pjs! . I love the polka dot top, it's so versatile and for only £3.50 it's a complete bargain! And how cute is that dress?! I love how simple it is, yet the lace makes it interesting and pretty, and again such a bargain!

what have you been buying recently?

Bedroom wishlist/inspiration

My uni year is coming to a close, my work has been handed in and i've got all my marks back. The only thing left is my halls of residence, which I'm moving out of in a week! Instead of moving back home a few of us are moving into a house, and I can't explain how excited I am to move! I've loved being in halls, but I need something a bit more homely since I'm almost 4 hours away from my actual home! Not only am I moving into a house, I'll be moving into the attic room. I've wanted an attic room forever, but we never had ours converted at home! I've been looking around for some bits I can buy to make the room more me, since we are renting we can't paint/drill holes etc!

As you can tell my colour scheme is blue/white, because my duvet sheets are blue with white polka dots. I love having fairy lights on when reading and these ones are just too pretty and they look good when they are not switched on! (I always think plain fairy lights look ugly when they're not switched on). In my new room there's a small bar which I plan on hanging clothes on, so I obviously need pretty hangers to display them on, and I love the look of wooden hangers! The notice board in halls was something I didn't think I'd use as much as I did, but now i don't think I can live without it, and the whiteboard will come in handy for to do lists, etc. I'm not allowed candles in halls, and vanilla is my favourite scent. I love scatter cushions and already have 2 patterned ones, so I needed something a bit simpler to go with them. Storage boxes always come in handy and I love the colour scheme of it. My new room doesn't have any shelves, so I think this unit is a big need!

And here's some inspiring decor pictures...

I bet you're wondering... What is Shopcade?! Shopcade is online shopping with a twist, not only can you buy things (obviously), but you can also create wishlists, get deals on your shopping items, earn points and make money from shopping! You can earn points from buying things on the site, or just logging in regularly.

For me the best thing about the site is the wishlist, I love a good wishlist! I wish everyone online retailer had wishlists available, it would make shopping so much easier! Here's a peak into my wishlist on the site:

Evita Maxi Dress, Nude and Blue Dip Dye Maxi Skirt, Resort Bandeau Bikini with Ruched Brief, Slogan Sweatshirt, Striped Denim Hot Pants, Aztec Denim Shorts.

EtailPR are running a competition with ASOS and Shopcade to win £400 worth of vouchers, for more information on the competition see their blog here.

Graduate Fashion Week 2013

This post is a bit last but a couple of weeks ago I went to London to watch BCU's show at GFW. We made a day of it, shopping in London etc etc! Then when we made it to GFW we were given free tickets to Manchester School Of Art's show as well! Both shows were incredible, but I have to say even though Manchester had the better set, BCU had much better clothes! I didn't take many photos on the day because I was so busy running around etc! These are my 3 favourites from each show..

One of my favourites from BCU's show was Amy's collection. I love the laser cut detail, the maroon colour and the headdresses! But most of all I love that bobbley knit piece, I would wear that right now!

Another favourite from BCU's show was Phoebe's collection. I love the use of black with nude, bondage but made girly. I love the volume in the dresses, which made them look amazing watching down the catwalk!

And my final favourite from BCU's show was Victoria's. I love the fun bright colours, the way the models are styled and all of the accessorizes. Most of all I love how the collection is wearable, I could walk out the house in the majority of her pieces, and I especially love that blue rain coat!

My first favourite from Manchester's show was Charlies collection. I fell in love with that print. I love the punk vibe, the stripes and denim! Even though it's men's wear I would still buy so many pieces from this collection if they were in a store!

My second favourite from Manchester's show was Lucy's collection. I love the chic girlyness of it, how it's almost child-like. I adore the print, I'm guessing she made it herself using childhood photographs, which makes me love it more! Plus I need a pair of those shorts! How pretty?!

And my final favourite from Manchester's show was Lyndsey's collection. The colour palette on this won me over, I love greys mixed with green! I also love the piping detail on all the pieces, making them work well as a collection!

Do you go to GFW? Who did you see? Who did you love?
